FIN 130 Unit 3

Our final project comprises using four different software packages to create a 3D image. The image was created using PolyCam software which allows your phone camera to take multiple images of and object which can then be stitched together. The resulting 3D image can then be edited using Mesh Mixer. Once the edits are complete the file can be exported to Slicer software where it can be used to create a 3D object in plywood in our workshop. Inkscape software enables the Slicer file to be sent for laser cutting into cardboard.

This is a styrofoam model of a head that I brought a few years ago for a creative process project but never got round to using. It has suffered a few dents in my garage which I hope I will be able to clean up using MeshMixer
This is what the head looks like when photographed with poly cam. I want to tidy up the dent in the forehead using mesh mixer. Also the scan is not good of the mouth area so I hope I can fix that a little as well.

And here is the head with the dents removed and the mouth and chin reworked – I’m quite pleased with it.
